Singer R Kelly pleads not guilty to sexual assault charges

His lawyer, Steven Greenberg, entered a not guilty plea on Mr Kelly's behalf.

The R&B star, 52, real name Robert Sylvester Kelly, spent three days in jail and was released last night after posting $100,000 bail. Attorney Michael Avenatti claims to have more damning video evidence to corroborate these claims.

"Over the weekend, we have encountered a number of additional witnesses who we have interviewed, who we are in the process of preparing to meet with prosecutors", Avenatti said Monday.

His lawyer Steve Greenberg called his client's finances "a mess" - while maintaining the chart-topper's innocence. Kelly was acquitted six years later.

Avenatti said the new video appears to have been made in 1999 or 2000.

Meanwhile, R. Kelly has strongly denied any allegations of abuse or misconduct.

"All of this is ridiculously premature", he said.

Another man at the scene, 25-year-old Omar Bey, said he was a fan of Kelly's but had mainly come to boost his social media profile.

Bond was set on Saturday at Sh100 million, and Kelly remained locked up over the weekend.

It drew swift praise from several 2020 contenders angling for support from the party's base. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of NY also dismissed McConnell's plans for a vote.

He reportedly struggled to pay the $100,000 bail payment required to leave Cook County Jail.

Greenberg claimed that Kelly was someone who should be wealthy but due to mismanagement and other problems, including bad contracts and deals, he doesn't have much money.

This comes just one day after the Cook County State's Attorney's Office announced that Jussie Smollett had been indicted by a grand jury on a single charge of disorderly conduct for falsifying a police report. The alleged victim later supplied police with one of her shirts, which she said Kelly ejaculated on, and authorities tested the shirt and identified semen on it, the documents state.

Prosecutors say that Kelly met another 16-year-old girl whom he would later victimize during his 2008 child pornography trial.

The attorney says he has learned of a third tape but did not provide details about it. Love continued, "I only helped a friend out". He said his client's ability to post bail is not affected by a child support case.

He risked eviction from his Chicago studio last month because he owes more than $166,000 in unpaid rent.

Photos posted to Instagram show Kelly - wearing a coat, hood and sunglasses - eating French fries with his posse at the fast-food joint in downtown Chicago after being released.

After the hearing, Greenberg told reporters that Kelly did not force anyone to have sex.

According to CNN, the indictment accuses Kelly of sexual acts with three children younger than 17.
