Chicago Police Open Internal Investigation Into Alleged Leaks In Jussie Smollett Case

The Chicago Police Department is conducting an internal investigation to determine who anonymously leaked information about the Jussie Smollett case to members of the press.

"When there are allegations of information being leaked, an internal investigation has been opened and we are also looking at our vulnerabilities."

This news comes on the heels of another investigation at Northwestern Memorial Hospital where dozens of workers may have been terminated for "improperly reviewing the medical records" of the Empire actor, just so they could sneak a peak at his medical chart.

Superintendent Eddie T. Johnson has previously defended the department's investigation into the attack and condemned Smollett after the actor was charged with filing a false police report. However, she did concede that she and many other nurses and hospital employees were fired last week due to allegations of misconduct concerning Smollett's confidential information.

Elizabeth Warren urges FAA to ground Boeing 737 MAX 8 planes
Oman, Norwegian Air Shuttle and South Korean airline Eastar Jet were among the latest to halt use of the Boeing model. After the FAA gave the Boeing plane the all-clear, Australian aviation authorities still chose to ground the planes.

This former Northwestern nurse is speaking out because she said that those who fired her at the hospital never asked her any investigative questions.

Smollett ignited a media firestorm by telling police two apparent supporters of U.S. President Donald Trump had struck him, put a noose round his neck and poured bleach over him during an assault outside his apartment on January 29.

Howard reportedly had a complete meltdown on the set after Smollett was arrested for allegedly staging the hate crime attack on himself. He has since been released on a $100,000 bond. Now Oscar winning actress Queen Latifah is speaking out in defense of the 37-year-old, who she knows closely. In addition, he has also been suspended from Empire. Text messages between Smollett and the Osundairo brothers apparently suggest a $3500 check was for a 5-week training/nutrition plan not for the alleged hoax like Chicago investigators stated.

Smollett maintains he is innocent and claims he was attacked by homophobic, racist assailants who shouted: 'This is MAGA country!' while beating him, putting a noose around his neck and pouring bleach on him.
