No Powerball victor yet, jackpot climbs to $750 million

More than half a billion dollars is up for grabs Saturday night in the Powerball, making the drawing the 7th-largest jackpot in USA lottery history.

Powerball games start at $40 million and the payout increases each drawing until someone wins the jackpot.

In December, David Johnson of Brooklyn bought the victor Powerball ticket for a $298.3 million.

The winning numbers in the Saturday, March 23 drawing were white balls 24, 25, 52, 60, 66, plus Powerball 5, and Power Play multiplier 3X.

The Powerball jackpot has turned over 25 times.

In order to win the Powerball jackpot tonight, you have to match all five white balls in any order, and you have to match the red Powerball number too.

Eight tickets sold in New Jersey matched four numbers plus the Powerball are worth $50,000 each.

Saturday night's Powerball drawing was held at 11 p.m. EST.

In 2016, Americans spent more than $72 billion on lottery tickets, according to the United States Census Bureau.

The victor claimed his winning prize on Monday at Lottery Headquarters in Dover, Delaware.

The odds of winning the top prize are 1 in 292,201,338, according to the S.C. Education Lottery.

"This is the second $1,000,000 victor from Delaware in just two months", said Vernon Kirk, Director of the Delaware Lottery in a statement.
