Dave Gettleman wheels and deals Giants into three first round picks

Jones was widely regarded as one of the top quarterbacks in the draft, but it's highly probable that he would have been on the board at No. 17.

New York Giants fans watching the NFL Draft at MetLife stadium did not appear too pleased with their team's pick.

The Giants needed a quarterback in the draft, but it was not the pick many were expecting. Gettleman and his staff went all-in on who they believe will replace Manning.

Florida's Jawaan Taylor enters the stage after the Jacksonville Jaguars selected Taylor in the second round of the NFL football draft, Friday, April 26, 2019, in Nashville, Tenn.

A new Lego Star Wars game is reportedly on the way
This news was confirmed by Matthew Wood, a video game voice actor who has worked on various Star Wars games in the past. She adds, "We're not just looking at what the next three movies might be, or talking about this in terms of a trilogy".

Asked if the plan for Manning was one more season, Gettleman said, "Absolutely not". "Maybe we are going to the Green Bay model, where Rodgers sat for three years". This pick turned heads as most analysts felt that Greedy Williams, the aggressive man coverage corner out of LSU looked to be a much better fit for the defense.

Many projected Lawrence as a late first, early second-rounder and this appeared to be another reach.

According to SNY's Ralph Vacchiano, the Giants made the pick because they felt like Jones was going to get drafted by the Redskins if they didn't.

Last year, the SEC had 27 players drafted through three rounds and finished with 53, and Alabama led the nation with 12. "I've just got to unlock it, that's all. Dexter Lawrence, he might have been the biggest player in the draft, I don't know", said Gettleman. "He's versatile, he's got hips, he can flip to rush the passer and we are thrilled to have him". The end result of drafting Baker could lead the Giants to trade veteran Janoris Jenkins, who they nearly dealt a year ago. Considering the Giants could have grabbed first-rounders Montez Sweat and L.J. Collier and still used their next pick on cornerback Deandre Baker, Lawrence seemed like a unusual choice at No. 17 until further digging.
