Oscar-winner Rami Malek on being the next James Bond villain

Regulars Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q, Rory Kinnear as Bond pal Tanner and Jeffrey Wright as Central Intelligence Agency agent Felix Leiter will all return too.

The announcement was made from Bond creator Ian Fleming's estate in Jamaica, where Fleming first came up with the idea of 007.

Joining the series are Oscar victor Rami Malek, Lashana Lynch (from Captain Marvel), Billy Magnussen, Ana De Armas, David Dencik and Dali Benssalah.

The start of production launch of Bond 25 was streamed live on the official James Bond channels: 007.com, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, and the video is now available on demand on all of these sites. "The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with risky new technology", it reads.

The upcoming 25th James Bond film which is yet to be titled has one more member incorporated into its team - Rami Malek. She also said that Jamaica is "Bond's spiritual home". It was initially to be directed by Danny Boyle, who exited the project abruptly this summer over creative differences.

Bond 25 is set for release in April 2020.

The film's release date was also pushed back to February 2020, having originally been slated for release in October this year.

A title wasn't revealed but producer Barbara Broccoli said the film will start in Jamaica where "Bond is not on active service, he is enjoying himself".
