Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gives latest Man United injury update on Eric Bailly

A report on the club's website read: "We can confirm that Manchester United defender Eric Bailly suffered a medial ligament injury on his right knee during Sunday's Premier League match against Chelsea at Old Trafford".

The injury, however, could have been much worse.

The 25-year-old Ivorian injured his medial ligament in a collision with Mateo Kovacic during the second half of the game. After lengthy treatment which brought the stretcher out, Bailly hobbled off with the assistance of two trainers, refusing the stretcher and instead hopping on one foot all the way down the tunnel.

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly is confident he will return stronger next season.

Let’s be very clear: Sarah Sanders lied to Robert Mueller
MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace blasted Sarah Huckabee Sanders and other White House officials for "debasing" the White House by telling lies.

Manchester United are hopeful that the centre-back will be fit to go on the club's pre-season tour in mid-July.

Bailly started a first Premier League game for United since February in Sunday's EPL clash with Chelsea at the Old Trafford but was withdrawn in the 71st minute.

After the incident, Solskjaer said: "He will be out for the rest of the season. But he is a warrior, he played well today, it was just unfortunate that he had to come off".

Ivory Coast are to play South Africa, Morocco and Namibia in the group stage, and Bailly would have been a certainty to be involved had he not sustained this injury.
