A Cat Filter Ruined A Pakistani Politician's Press Conference

Instead, viewers on the Tehreek-e-Insaf party's official Facebook page got an eyeful of politicians with pointy cat ears and whiskers, the result of a staffer accidentally leaving the "cat filter" on.

The Tehreek-e-Insaf party acknowledged the mistake and said it wouldn't happen again.

The Kitty Conference was captured mostly in the form of still images and screenshots that were shared on social media after the fact, along with some raw screen recordings.

"The cat filter was turned on by mistake", Yousafzai said. "We ... pride ourselves in bringing Pakistani politics to (the) internet".

While potentially embarrassing, sbs.com.au noted that officials quickly tweeted out a statement regarding the filter and chalked it up to simply being "human error".

"PTI SM Disciplinary Committee probed the matter first hand and concluded the incident as "a human error" by one of our hard-working volunteers".

Twitter user Ahsan Hamid Durrani commented online that Yousufzai looked "kinda cute" with the cat filter applied - which could be a tip for global politicians around the world hoping to catch the attention of constituents. All necessary actions have been taken to avoid such incident in future with a great emphasis on strict enforcement of SOPs and protocol for live coverage by the ground teams.
