North Korea's Hwasong-15 intercontinental ballistic missile is capable of hitting anywhere inside the continental United States in the event of war, US Forces Korea has confirmed in its 2019 Strategic Digest command publication. Accompanied by Moon, Trump approached Kim at the border in the first-ever meeting of its kind and then became the first sitting USA president to cross into North Korea, with both men expressing warm sentiments months after bilateral talks fell through in February.
It came on the heels of Trump's seemingly cordial meeting with Kim Jong-un at the Demilitarized Zone between North and South Korea, where the commanders were seen shaking hands across the dividing line.
The two leaders promised to seek denuclearization in exchange for security and sanctions relief and made some good faith measures, but both sides expressed frustration with the slow pace of progress in the following months.
North Korea will maintain its nuclear arsenal for the next two decades and the United States' insistence on its rapid disarmament is an "unrealistic goal", according to a report by the Federation of American Scientists presented in Seoul on Friday.
Despite the warning, it's unclear if North Korean can conduct a major weapons test any time soon because that would likely disrupt a positive atmosphere after the June 30 summit between Trump and Kim at the Korean border village of Panmunjom. It was the president of the Presidium of the SPA who represents the country as nominal head of state.

The statement said the United States and 23 other countries sent a letter to the UN Security Council committee monitoring sanctions on North Korea demanding urgent action 'under the absurd pretext of "excess in the amount of refined petroleum imported"'.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said that Xi briefed Trump on China's position on North Korea when they met on sidelines of G-20 summit. Questioned on the veracity of the report, State Department spokesperson Morgan Ortagus said Tuesday that such a move "would never be the end of a process", but "would be at the beginning".
-North Korea negotiations are expected to resume, is that the U.S.is seeking "to build trust, in a way that furthers denuclearization and sanctions relief".
The sources noted the Trump administration is open to many ideas on North Korea's denuclearization.
The source said, "If it works the model could also be applied to facilities other than the main nuclear complex in Yongbyon and move in a step-by-step manner until the entire weapons of mass destruction program are fully closed and all sanctions are lifted".
