Northern B.C. deaths: 2 teens thought to be missing now suspects

The two missing teen suspects wanted in connection to the murders of a young couple from the USA and Australia have now been charged with the murder of a man whose body was found near the suspects' burned camper, Canadian authorities said.

The police force said Thursday that Bryer Schmegelsky, 18, and Kam McLeod, 19, were seen twice in the Gillam, Man., area.

Police did say McLeod and Schmegelsky had been spotted in Meadow Lake, a community in northwestern Saskatchewan, on Sunday, two days after their truck was found. Investigators released photos of the pair that were taken there.

Schmegelsky and McLeod are charged with second-degree murder in the death of a Vancouver man and are suspects in the fatal shootings of an Australian man and his American girlfriend.

RCMP implored people not to approach McLeod and Schmegelsky if sighted but to call 911, reminding the public that the suspects are considered "dangerous".

The hunt for the teenage fugitives has shifted around 2,000 kilometres east to rural Manitoba, with police reinforcements being sent in after the vehicle the pair drove from British Columbia was found abandoned and on fire outside the small town of Gillam.

"There have been no stolen vehicles in that area", she said.

The victims have been identified as American Chynna Deese, 24, Australian Lucas Fowler, 23, and Leonard Dyck, 64, of Vancouver.

During the investigation of the first burnt out vehicle last Friday, police found the body of an unidentified man roughly a mile (about 2 kilometers) from the auto.

"He was a loving father".

The Canadian military has stepped in to help in the search for B.C. murder suspects Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky after Mounties said someone may have "inadvertently" helped them leave the Gillam, Man. area.

Four days earlier, the bodies of Australian Lucas Fowler, 23, and United States citizen Chynna Deese, 24, were discovered shot, 500km away on the same highway.

AFCON 2019: Super Eagles clinch bronze
Perhaps the most memorable clash between the two at the AFCON remains the quarter-final battle in 2006, also in Egypt . The North Africans registered three draws in the three group stage matches, drawing one all with Angola and Mali.

Alan states it is his belief that Bryer Schmegelsky is on a "suicide mission" and that his intent is on going out in a "blaze of glory" in a possible gun battle with police.

McLeod and Schmegelsky have now been charged in his death.

The most recent sighting was on Monday, RCMP Cpl. "I don't know what to think anymore", said Alan Schmegelsky.

"They were really excited about it", he said, adding he didn't know whether the pair were Schmegelsky and McLeod and he doesn't have security cameras.

"He wants his hurt to end", he said. The two suspects most recently logged onto their accounts 13 days ago, about the time they told family they were leaving Port Alberni in search of work.

"There were times he would tell me and my friends ways he wanted to kill us and then himself, which is scary", she said.

Canadian police released these photos of the suspects in the double homicide of Lucas Fowler and Chynna Deese.

A former classmate of Schmegelsky said he used troubling language when speaking to them.

"I would see him outside helping his grandmother", she said.

"That was their outdoor video game".

"I was disgusted and dragged him out", Schmegelsky said.

Deese's mother, Sheila, told WSOC that the couple planned to travel by van through the Canadian countryside while visiting all the national parks. "To know his lovely girlfriend, Chynna Deese of Charlotte, North Carolina also lost her life in this violent event is too cruel".
