Pakistan predicts bloodbath in Kashmir

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to address the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in NY on Friday evening from 7:30 pm (IST).

"We belong to a country that has given the world not war, but Buddha's message of peace", he said.

He also sought to warn the world against a possible war between the two nuclear-armed neighbours who have already fought three wars over Kashmir. "The speech was real representation of the oppressed people of the occupied state of Jammu and Kashmir", he said.

In what can put the Congress in a tough spot, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday once again quoted the party to peddle his anti-India rhetoric during his UNGA address.

"What is he (Modi) going to do when he lifts the curfew?"

"The United States is concerned by widespread detentions, including those of politicians and business leaders, and the restrictions on the residents of Jammu and Kashmir", Wells said.

"Free Kashmir, End the Siege", read banners during the pro-Pakistan demonstration, while on the pro-Modi side protesters held up placards hailing the Indian leader as a "visionary".

They've been locked in a worsening standoff since August 5, when Modi stripped limited autonomy from the portion of Kashmir that India controls.

"If a conventional war starts between the two countries, anything could happen".

Trump says he'd 'prefer not meeting' Iran's Rouhani at UN
Trump and Rouhani are both expected to attend the United Nations General Assembly next week. "I'm not looking to get into new conflict, but sometimes you have to", he said.

Though Trump has expressed interest in mediating between India and Pakistan, he also made no mention of heightened regional tensions during an unprecedented joint rally with Modi in Houston on Sunday.

Khan has used his NY trip to make fiery denunciations of Modi, even likening his ideology to Nazi Germany. "And that is the reason why our voice against terrorism, to alert the world about this evil, rings with seriousness and outrage". Residents of the region will be watching Khan and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to see if they use the United Nations stage to ratchet up or down the temperature.

"Our country is among the top 10 nations in the world, which are most affected by climate change", he said.

Imran Khan Makes Provocative Speech At UNGA, Says "There Will Be Bloodbath in Kashmir After Narendra Modi Government Lifts Curfew".

"This was a deeply impassioned, dark and really quite grim speech by Imran Khan railing against the injustices of the world", he said.

'Space has been an important issue for India certainly in the past couple of decades that are important to India globally, ' she told a private television channel.

U.S. President Donald Trump met separately with both Modi and Khan on the sidelines of the United Nations gathering.

The ceasefire violation took place in the Nowshera sector in Rajouri district on Friday morning when Pakistani forces fired small arms and mortars, said Indian Army sources.

He stressed that Pakistan has nothing to gain by sending in "500 terrorists" but that "on the pretext of going after terrorists there would be more oppression [by India] of the people of Kashmir".
