E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial finally gets a sequel

A spokesperson for Sky said: "E.T.is back on Earth for a surprise visit with Elliott, who now has his own family". Yeah, that was re-created, too, with Elliott's kids this time around.

It's in the form of a new short film featuring Xfinity.

Although the world has changed since they've last seen each other, E.T. and Elliott's enduring friendship reminds all of us how important reconnecting is during the holiday season.

While Henry Thomas is best-known for his emotional role in E.T.

Goodby Silverstein & Partners made the spot, which recreates numerous film's iconic moments, including the bicycle ride in the sky and E.T.'s first interactions with startled children.

Virgil van Dijk stuns diehard Liverpool fan with surprise visit at work
Virgil van Dijk has had a great 2019 but Frenkie de Jong is adamant Barcelona team-mate Lionel Messi deserves the Ballon d'Or . Klopp's team Liverpool are in sublime form this season and occupy the top spot in Premier League points table with 37 points.

Henry Thomas on the set of "E.T.". Only this time, he landed on Earth on goal, and he's learning about tablets and playing in the snow.

The commercial is for Xfinity, owned by Comcast, which also owns Universal Pictures-the company that originally brought us E.T. It tracks though. E.T. played with Elliott's toys in 1982 and now all his kids' toys would be fancy electronics. A shortened version appeared on TV, but the full 4-minute version is available online.

"The audience is going to get everything they want out of a sequel without the messy bits that could destroy the beauty of the original and the special place it has in people's minds and hearts", Thomas said in a statement.

At the end of the day, it may be a corporate-branded way of tapping into nostalgia, but it works. "It's really a win-win".

Elliott's children and wife are shocked to see this small raisin-like creature, but Elliott excitedly hugs his old friend from 1982.
