Chiefs' Equipment Accidentally Sent To NJ Ahead Of Matchup With Patriots

A mishap put the Kansas City Chiefs in danger of forfeiting their huge matchup Sunday against the New England Patriots, but they're expected to avoid that scenario.

An equipment container containing some of the Chiefs' shoulder pads, helmets, and footballs was not unloaded on Saturday, and instead came accidentally to Newark, New Jersey, where it is now punctually returned to Boston at 4:30 pm.

According to a new report from ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chiefs failed to unload one for their equipment containers when the team arrived in MA on Saturday.

Mason Rudolph: Myles Garrett racial slur accusation is 'totally untrue'
Pittsburgh Steelers' Mason Rudolph gives his take on the incident in which Myles Garrett struck the quarterback with his own helmet.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been stymied by Patriots coach Bill Belichick more than anyone else in the league, with the first half of both contests against the Patriots leaning heavily in favor of New England. If team can not get the equipment to the proper place before the game starts, they will be forced to forfeit.

The container also reportedly had the game bags of the Chief's 35 players.

"I never heard that before", a source told ESPN. Overall, this is the last thing you want to have happen when you're going to play the Patriots in Foxboro.
