Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown will back his first trade agreement

The Trump administration and House Democrats reached an agreement on the United States-Mexico-Canada trade deal, Democrats said on December 10.

"We have been laser-focused on legislating this Congress, and this new North American Trade Agreement is no exception".

Sherrod Brown, who has never supported a trade agreement during his years in Congress, announced Friday that he plans to vote for the newly negotiated trade agreement between the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The USMCA comes as a result of a 2017-2018 renegotiation of North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) by the three member states.

President Trump and House Democrats managed to bridge their differences on a new trade deal with Mexico and Canada, but Republican U.S. Sen.

Seade said he sent a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer expressing Mexico's "surprise and concern" over the matter and that he would travel to Washington on Sunday to convey the message personally to Lighthizer and U.S. lawmakers.

The United States, Mexico and Canada have reached a historic trade deal.

Trump is expected to highlight his action during Hanukkah receptions at the White House on Wednesday. Religion was not included in the definition , but Judaism now is.


President Trump said that the USMCA Trade Bill "will be the best and most important trade deal ever".

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Tuesday she hoped for a vote to approve the USMCA prior to the Congressional recess on December 20th. The U.S. Trade Representative will sign the deal in Mexico later today.

"Some of our technology has changed, and we need some rules that are more clear and defined around technology", Hill said. Heyman's one-time counterpart - former Canadian ambassador to the U.S. David MacNaughton - also praised the deal, particularly as it related to Canada's steel and aluminum industries. Trump has been an outspoken advocate of the new pact and has publicly pushed for House Democrats to hold a final vote.
