Charles Barkley reveals he's now under self-quarantine after taking coronavirus test

"I talked to a couple people at Turner and a couple of doctors, and they told me to self-quarantine for the next 48 hours".

"I'm just kinda in limbo right now", he added.

"I spent the earlier part of the week in New York City, and when I got to Atlanta I wasn't feeling well", Barkley said.

While in New York, Barkley appeared on "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert". I took the test, I haven't gotten the results back yet, and that's where I'm at now. Barkley says he is on his second day of the quarantine and took a test for coronavirus Thursday.

Angels general manager Billy Eppler told ESPN on Friday the team was aware of reports on Barkley's test for the virus.

The NCAA, MLB, the NHL, MLS and the XFL followed the NBA's lead Thursday and suspended play or canceled events, most notably the NCAA Tournament.

The news comes a day after the National Basketball Association announced it was suspending its season following Jazz center Rudy Gobert contracting the virus.

Later on Thursday, while speaking by phone on TNT, Barkley asked CNN chief medical correspondent Sanjay Gupta, "Do you think this thing is going to get worse before it gets better?"

"The NBA announced that a player on the Utah Jazz has preliminary tested positive for COVID-19".
