COVID-19 in Washington: 4 additional cases, 1 death in King County

Globally, more than 3,000 people have died as a result of the virus, which has now infected almost 90,000 people with cases in more than 60 countries.

The new cases prompted emergency declarations in at least two states and sparked new warnings.

Eight of the 14 cases, and four of the deaths, in King County are linked to one care facility. The death of this 70-year-old man previously reported in serious condition is also the second death in the United States from COVID-19.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advises people to wash hands frequently and self-quarantine if they have possible symptoms.
