Fla. Declares Public Health Emergency After Two Virus Cases

After Gov. Ron DeSantis announced two confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Florida, Orange County leaders announced they've taking measures locally to prepare for the virus. "But the bottom line is the guidance has been expanded, and so those individuals who fit the new guidance will be tested, which is a broader net".

The governor's spokeswoman, Helen Ferre, told the Miami Herald on Tuesday that she did not anticipate additional information on the case being released that day. The state is now waiting for confirmation on the positive test results from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). One question to be answered, according to a study in China, involves the ages of the coronavirus patients. "And the obviously with these cases they've proactively been contacting the people who may have had interactions with the patients". World Health Organization says that early reports suggest that illness severity is associated with age and co-morbid disease.

DeSantis said his concern about the long-term care facilities is two-fold: COVID-19 is more deadly in frail elderly populations, and a nursing facility in Kirkland, Wash., appears to have a central role in the spread of the virus in Washington state. Your health care provider will work with the health department to see if you need to be tested for COVID-19.

"I am grateful for Gov. Ron DeSantis' leadership to declare a Public Health Emergency in Florida, which will free up resources to help combat this virus", Waltz said.

Holden To Be Axed In Australia At The End Of 2020
In 2013, GM announced Holden would cease production in Australia in 2017, due to the high costs of manufacturing in the country. With 1.6 million Holden cars still on the roads, about 200 people are expected to be kept on staff to carry out that work.

County officials held a press conference Monday, March 2, regarding the steps being taken to prepare for the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19.

"People should go out and vote, and I don't think that there's going to be an issue with that", he said. "But it's a tough test, so you can make sure of that".

"We received, which we expected, a presumptive positive test for COVID-19".

County school districts have issued health alerts for parents and students. The area around Milan, Italy, was the site of Europe's first outbreak of the virus.
