In case you missed it, the tech mogul and baby momma Grimes picked out a name for their son which defies logic, tradition, and quite possibly California law: X Æ A-12.

"Well, first of all, it was my partner [Grimes] who actually mostly came up with the name", Musk says.

When asked how to say the name, Musk replied, "I mean it's just X, the letter X. And then, the Æ is, like, pronounced 'Ash.' Yeah". The highly unusual name drew the interest of thousands of people as they tried to figure out if Musk was being serious, and if so, what was the meaning behind it.

Bizarrely, Elon Musk and Grimes have both given different explanations on how to pronounce the baby's name.

"A-12 is my contribution", the SpaceX founder and CEO told Rogan, in an interview that was posted online Thursday (May 7). Coolest plane ever. It's pretty great'.
